Inventory Management Software includes phone and email support. No annual recurring fees. All versions include 15 named users and 5 concurrent users. System on Standard platform is recommended if you anticipate total (including deleted records) of less than 350,000 records. If you anticipate more than 400,000 records, the system based on MS SQL-Server is strongly recommended. We also have web-based system.

Operating System - Client PCs: Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 operating system with 2GB memory, 1.5 GHz or faster processor. We supply client updates one-time installation (takes about 10 MB space). These updates are from Microsoft Corp.
Program works on Macs if Parallels or Virtual Machine is installed along with Windows OS on Macs. Our new web version works with any operating system – you need IIS (Internet Information System) typically available on Microsoft OS to host the web site and then it can be accessed by Windows, Mac, UNIX system. Web-based system can be installed in the cloud that supports IIS such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS.
Server or shared folder: All files are kept on a shared or a network drive. Storage space required is 300 MB space with provision to expand. Files may be kept on any system (Windows or UNIX). All client PCs access the same files by a shortcut on the desktops. Program can also be installed on single computer – requirements are same.
Datasets: Datasets are major fields or areas for which you want to track records for. Each dataset can have their independent field names. For example major areas are like Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Clinical Data, QA, Protein Biology etc. Another example is in case of fertility clinics, you have different fields for sperm, eggs etc. Researchers involved in each of these major areas want to define fields to their likings. For example, one field may be defined as Storage Media in Cell Biology, the same field may be defined as Project in Protein Biology, Patient Demographic in Clinical Data or Pass/Fail in QA. This way you can maintain all data at one place – A 10D (10 dataset version) is like having 10 individual applications in one.
MS SQL-Server based platforms: For a large number of samples (greater than 350,000 including deleted records), MS-SQL Server works much better as there is no limit on number of samples that can be stored. We supply all necessary files for the program on Standard platform. However, if you choose either Oracle or Microsoft SQL-Server platform, you need to have licensed copy of MS SQL-Server (2005 or higher).
Backups: We recommend that you maintain a routine backups of your shared drives and databases so that in case of hard drive failure we can help you recover all your data. We provide a fee based service if you want to send us the files and store at our location.
Number of Users: Named Users are defined as the number of users you create. Concurrent users indicate how many users can log in at the same time.
Validation: The program conforms to the 21CFR-Part11 guidelines. We strongly suggest that you validate it for your purpose, if required. Once the system is purchased, we will provide technical document on how to validate Inventory Management MS for 21CFR-Part11 guidelines.
